Offset The Cost of Your CMMC Assessment

The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is redefining the cybersecurity requirements for all companies that work with the Department of Defense (DoD) in any capacity. This means that these companies will need to take the time to analyze their cybersecurity solution and compare it to the listed requirements for each certification level—if you don’t have a high enough certification for the contract you’re looking for, you don’t even get the chance to bid. To make sure your company is on track to renew your contracts (or bid for new ones) you’re going to need a cybersecurity assessment, which means working with a qualified security consulting group and an IT resource to help you implement the solutions you need for certification. All of this can quickly become expensive—fortunately, Summit knows how to help you save some money while getting what you need.

DCAP Grant Assistance

The state of Maryland’s Defense Cybersecurity Assistance Program (DCAP) provides funding and assistance to Defense Contractors to aid their cybersecurity compliance efforts. DCAP currently provides resources for NIST 800-171 and DFARS compliance requirements; while the CMMC does not yet have certified auditors, the CMMC is largely based on those previous compliance requirements. This means that your company can get ahead of the CMMC curve by passing a security assessment based on those guidelines. To qualify for this assistance, your company needs to be a Defense Contractor with a physical location in Maryland, and 10% or more of your business needs to be DoD-related OR a contract/procurement request.

The number of companies that are qualified by the state to work with Defense Contractors to apply this grant money is small, in part due to the process for it, but Summit Business Technologies is one of them. This lets us help you implement a strong cybersecurity policy for a fraction of the initial cost. These assessments and cybersecurity solutions are something any Defense Contractor is going to need to do anyway—we can help make it a smoother and much cheaper process.

Maryland Cyber Tax Credit

Maryland also allows certain qualified providers to work with clients to provide a tax credit towards anything related to cybersecurity. The list of qualified providers is short, but Summit is on it—this lets us help you save a significant amount of money on cybersecurity. The cost of your cybersecurity solution would be taken out of your taxes, making an already important investment much more affordable. It’s also worth mentioning that Maryland Defense Contractors can take advantage of both the Cyber Tax Credit and the DCAP program, letting them save a lot of money.

If you’re a company that contracts with the Department of Defense in any way, you’re going to need to update your cybersecurity standards to meet certification anyway—there’s no avoiding that. However, if you work with Summit Business Technologies, you’re guaranteeing yourself an excellent experience; we offer unparalleled value. By working with us, you can take advantage of both the DCAP grant and Cyber Tax Credit, and you also benefit from our decades of experience and cybersecurity mastery. Investing in cybersecurity now sets you up for potentially millions of dollars in DoD contract work in the future—and working through us makes that initial investment all the more affordable. Give us a call, and we can see what we can do for you.
